FLORIDA MINIMUM WAGE GOING UP

As of yesterday Florida’s minimum wage is now $8.46 an hour up from $8.25 an hour. The minimum wage for tipped employees is now at least $5.44 an hour, up from $5.23 an hour. In 2004 Florida voters approved a constitutional amendment establishing a state minimum wage that is higher than the federal minimum wage. The state minimum wage increases because it is tied to inflation. The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour.
