Several developers want to buy over 500 acres of Navy Outlying Field 8 that is not being purchased by Navy Federal Credit Union. Hemmer Consulting of Pensacola and 68 Ventures of Spanish Fort, Alabama, have offered 18 million dollars for approximately 530 acres of land. The companies intend to develop a mixed-use site that will be mutually agreed upon by both parties. Navy Federal has offered to purchase the other 100 acres of OLF-8 for 4.2 million dollars once a land swap deal with the U.S. Navy is completed.
