Northwest Florida’s Medical Examiner has not been reappointed to the position, but will stay in the role until the state makes a new appointment. Florida’s Medical Examiners Commission met Friday and voted not to reappoint Andrea Minyard as the District 1 medical examiner, which includes Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. State Attorney Bill Eddins, has named Minyard as an interim medical examiner until the Medical Examiners Commission and Governor Ron DeSantis name a new medical examiner for the district.
