The city of Pensacola may restrict the times that bottle clubs in the city can operate by having them keep the same hours that bars can be open. Bedlam – at 15 East Intendencia Street – is Pensacola’s only bottle club and is open until 5 a.m. Patrons bring in their own bottles of alcohol and the club makes money off of a cover charge and by selling cups, ice and soft drinks. Police say it was the site of more than 960 police calls over a two-year period. Pensacola Councilwoman Ann Hill is proposing to limit the hours that a bottle club may be open to 3 a.m., the same as other bars in the city. Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson said he supports the measure.
