A Destin woman remains in intensive care three days after being seriously injured when struck by a boat propeller off a Destin beach. 55-year-old Lee Ann Dorn, was flown to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center on Saturday night after the 6:15pm accident just east of Destin’s east jetty. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the boat was moving when Dorn and several others jumped off and Dorn was struck by the outboard engine propeller. Three Memphis doctors and a nurse happened to be on the beach at the time and assisted the injured woman.
