MILTON MAYOR LEAVES PLANNING ORGANIZATION

The Pensacola News Journal is reporting that Milton Mayor Heather Lindsay is stepping down from her position on the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization after concerns were raised about perceived conflicts of interest due to her new job as an attorney for the city of Pensacola. Lindsay, who was elected mayor of Milton in November will start a new job as an assistant attorney for Pensacola on June 17th. The Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization, is made up of elected officials from Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, as well as Orange Beach and the community of Lillian, Alabama and makes recommendations to the Florida Department of Transportation regarding regional transportation.
