The City of Fort Walton Beach has approved the fire assessment fee. This fee will provide revenue for enhancements within the fire department and will free up property tax revenue to be invested in the police department and other City services. The assessment will be collected monthly on the City’s utility bills and is scheduled to go into effect on October 1.
