Until further notice the Florida Forest Service’s Blackwater Forestry Center will no longer issue authorizations for outdoor burning in Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties because of the dry and dangerous conditions. While there are no burn bans in effect, authorizations are required for prescribed burning, acreage burns, and piles greater than 8 feet in diameter. Authorizations will not be issued  until conditions improve and the area receives significant rainfall.
