A 29-year-old Pensacola man was arrested after he fled on foot after crashing into a deputy’s patrol vehicle Saturday afternoon. Gary York was stopped at a stop sign at North Green and West Jackson streets then went through the intersection without yielding to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office vehicle that was responding to a call. The two vehicles collided, and York and his two passengers, who are still unknown, fled the scene. York was found hiding in an abandoned home and was arrested. A 21-year-old passenger in the deputy’s vehicle, who was participating in a ride-along, suffered facial injuries and was treated at Sacred Heart Hospital. York was booked into the Escambia County Jail on a $16,000 bond.
