Backers of a proposed constitutional amendment that would increase Florida’s minimum wage from $8.46 to fifteen dollars an hour, say they almost have enough petition signatures to get the measure on next year’s ballot. The Florida Division of Elections says the political committee – Florida For A Fair Wage – has submitted 763,330 valid petition signatures and only needs 2,870 more signatures to meet the required threshold. The Florida Supreme Court will also have to sign off on the proposed ballot language.
