The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says a licensed mental health counselor has been charged with sexual misconduct for a relationship with a client over a three-month period. deputies say. The victim said 46-year-old Susan Shelton had been his therapist for approximately two years and began a sexual relationship in November 2018 that lasted until January 2019 while he was still her client. Shelton denied the relationship and said he was never allowed inside her home. However, the victim gave investigators photographs and videos, which showed the relationship was sexual in nature. Sexual misconduct by a psychotherapist is a third-degree felony.
