Escambia County Fire Rescue says another red bulb has been placed on the “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety wreath. That brings the total to seven, one for each structure fire so far this season. The latest fire occurred in the 1400 block of North “W” Street in a two-story building. The State Fire Marshal said the fire was caused by overloaded extension cords. Smoke alarms were not present and if your home does not have a working smoke detector, please call Escambia County Fire Rescue or the Pensacola Fire Department.
