PETE SHINNICK NATIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR

Pete Shinnick, the University of West Florida’s head football coach, has been named the Division 2 National Coach of the Year, the second time in three years he has received that honor. UWF finished 13-2 overall in 2019 and won the program’s first national championship with a 48-40 victory over Minnesota State, on December 21st. Shinnick is 35-17 in four seasons at UWF, including a 9-1 record in postseason play. The Argonauts completed one of the most remarkable post-season runs in NCAA history, defeating three number one seeds and four undefeated teams.
