A driver who ran off Highway 97 may have set a record for the most objects hit by one vehicle in a traffic crash. The Florida Highway Patrol said it happened in Davisville in North Escambia County near Highway 97 and Highway 4 when the driver, a man in his 70s, ran off the road and struck two culverts, six mailboxes, a speed limit sign, a trash can and a toy dump truck. He refused medical treatment and there’s no word yet on what charges he might face.
