UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT PROSECUTION

Lawrence Keef the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, says his office will take a hard-line stance on immigration by prosecuting undocumented immigrants arrested in Northwest Florida. At a press conference he said the problems that hinder federal immigration officers in sanctuary cities don’t exist in Northwest Florida. Sanctuary cities are defined as those municipalities in which local laws protect undocumented immigrants from deportation or prosecution, despite federal immigration law. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, has signed into law a bill forbidding law enforcement agencies and local governments from adopting policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
