The Atmore, Alabama Fire Department says a woman died in in a fire north of Atmore early Saturday morning. The fire was reported at 1:12 a.m. on Martinville Loop, just east of Highway 21 and after it was extinguished, the body of an adult female was found. Four other people escaped the blaze, including a small child who suffered minor burns. The name of the victim has not yet been released and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office.
