CORONAVIRUS AND ELECTIONS

Election officials in Florida say that so far, next Tuesday’s presidential preference primary has not been affected by the threat of the coronavirus. Florida’s elections laws allow elections to be modified or postponed if necessary. The governor and the Department of State could expand vote-by-mail, move precinct locations or allow for new voting methods. In extreme cases, elections supervisors can allow absentee ballots to be emailed or faxed on election day.
