7 MARATHONS IN 7 DAYS

Charity runs to raise money are nothing new, even charity runs by individuals to raise public awareness are often in the news. However, a cross country coach at the University of West Florida seems to be taking the idea to extremes. 35-year-old Caleb Carmichael decided he would run a marathon a day – 26.2 miles – for seven days to raise money for Argo Pantry, which provides food to UWF students in need of assistance, and for Feeding the Gulf Coast, a food bank that serves 24 counties throughout the Florida panhandle, South Alabama and South Mississippi. Carmichael – who is in his seventh year as the UWF men’s and women’s cross-country head coach – started last Monday and finished yesterday and ran a total of 186.2 miles
