BAY COUNTY TEACHER DISCIPLINED

A teacher at Tyndall Elementary School has been disciplined by the Bay County School District for negative comments she made in a Facebook post regarding recent nationwide protests and riots following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. In the post Nicole Waller stated, “Bet they won’t burn down the food stamp office.” The district conducted a meeting with Waller, which is the lowest level of discipline. She will also be required to do diversity training. Bay District Schools superintendent Bill Husfelt sent out a mass email to school district employees requesting they proceed with caution when using social media.
