Florida has become the third U.S. state to report more than 300,000 coronavirus cases, joining New York and California. The Department of Health said yesterday was the 22nd consecutive day with at least 5,000 positive cases in the state. 4,521 Florida residents have died as a result of COVID-19 complications and 19,334 residents have been hospitalized since the pandemic began. The state has counted more than 240,000 new coronavirus cases since its Phase 2 reopening began on June 5^th.
