CHARGES DROPPED

State Attorney Bill Eddins says criminal charges have been dropped against the Black Lives Matter protester who was carried on the hood of an SUV across the Pensacola Bay Bridge on June 7th. 36-year-old Jason Uphaus was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after an investigation. Eddins said there was probable cause for an arrest, but insufficient evidence to proceed with this case. He also said the driver of the SUV failed to cooperate or communicate with prosecutors during the investigation.
