The lawmakers dubbed the “Seditious Six” had no authority to urge U.S. service members to ignore “illegal” orders from President Donald Trump in a video posted on social media, former U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., Joe diGenova, and former senior Justice Department official Victoria Toensing said Tuesday.
The Newsmax legal analysts told Newsmax’s “The Chris Salcedo Show” that the lawmakers’ video crossed a bright legal and constitutional line.
The video — titled “Don’t Give Up the Ship” – featured Democrat Sens. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Mark Kelly of Arizona and Democrat Reps. Chris Deluzio and Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, and Jason Crow of Colorado.
