STORE CLERK SHOT 1-16-17

Escambia County Sheriff’s Department says a store clerk was shot during a Saturday armed robbery at the T&C Number Three Food Mart in the 7000 block of West Fairfield Drive. The armed and masked suspect entered the store around 9:30pm and demanded money. When the store owner would not open the register the suspect shot him in the hip then held the gun to the head of another employee until he was given some cash. He then fled from the store. The injured man was taken to Baptist Hospital and is expected to survive. The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black backpack. The investigation is continuing.
