The name of the mother accused of stabbing her two children – one of them fatally – has been released. Escambia County Sheriff’s investigators have charged 45-year-old Janel Francis with 2nd degree homicide and 2nd degree attempted homicide. The altercation on Tuesday left her 18-year-old son dead and her 24-year-old daughter with multiple stab wounds. The mother and daughter are still hospitalized. Two children – ages four and five – witnessed the stabbings, but were not hurt.
