- is the one-year anniversary of the Tornado strike in Century in north Escambia County. The EF-3 tornado first touched down southwest of McDavid at 3:32 p.m., then passed through Century and into Alabama. The tornado traveled 16.5 miles and was up to 300 yards wide. There was much property damage, but no fatalities. Many residents did not have insurance and recovery has been a slow process.
