ECSD WARRANT SCAM 4-21-17

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department there is an ongoing phone scam in the community. Investigators say some residents have received a call from a man who claims to be a Sergeant Brewer from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. He tells the victim that there is a warrant for their arrest, but the problem can be resolved for cash or a Visa gift card. The Sheriff’s Department never asks residents for money and anyone who believes they have been of victim of the scam is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department.
