SCHOOL BUS TRAFFIC CRASH

The Florida Highway Patrol said no students were injured yesterday morning when a pick-up truck collided with a school bus in McDavid in North Escambia County. Seven students from Ernest Ward Middle School in Walnut Hill and Northview High School in Century, were on the Escambia County School District bus at the time of the crash, but none were hurt. Troopers said 47-year-old Paul Ryals, of McDavid, was driving the pick-up truck south on South Pineville Road when he drove into the opposite lane of traffic, and struck the front of the school bus. Ryals was cited for failing to maintain his lane.
