The Northwest Florida Daily News is reporting that more than a dozen dead sea birds were discovered on local beaches last Friday. The birds were found on beaches at Henderson Beach State Park, June White Decker Park and O’Steen Public Beach Access. A veterinarian with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in Gainesville will determine their cause of death. There was no sign that the birds were poisoned or harmed, but cold weather may have reduced their food supply leaving the birds in a weakened state.
