STUDENT WITH GUN IDENTIFIED

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the sixth-grade Ransom Middle School student who was arrested for bringing a loaded gun to the school on Tuesday. 13-year-old Ashton Ferguson-Resmondo of Cantonment was arrested by the School Resource Officer for possessing a loaded gun, a knife, and prescription pills. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said the student took the gun from his parents’ safe. The teenager is facing charges of possession of a concealed weapon, brandishing a firearm on school grounds and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
