FERRY SERVICE

The National Park Service has announced ticket costs, schedules and other details about upcoming ferry service between the beach and downtown Pensacola. Dan Brown, superintendent of Gulf Islands National Seashore, said Tuesday that the ferry service is on schedule to start May 19th and tickets for the two, 150-passenger ferries, will cost no more than $20 for an adult, all day ticket. The ferries are being funded with 5.2 million dollars in restitution funds paid by oil giant BP in the aftermath of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
