ESCAMBIA DEPUTY SLIGHTLY INJURED

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy received a minor injury yesterday afternoon when a man fired a shot and fragments hit the deputy in an incident that began with a trespassing complaint. The man then ran to a home near Avery Street and Hollywood Avenue and barricaded himself inside. A SWAT team surrounded the house for two hours before 59-year old Dale Brown was taken into custody. Brown was charged with aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, armed burglary and trespassing. The deputy did not require medical attention.
