COMMUNITY CENTER SHOOTING

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that injured two teenagers Saturday night at the Marie Young Community Center in Wedgewood. It happened around 7:25 p.m as a large group of people had gathered at the center’s parking lot during some type of event. Investigators say a 19-year-old and 16-year-old were shot and both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time. The investigation is on-going and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office or call Crime Stoppers at 433-STOP.
