SCHOOL BUS GUN SCARE

A scare on an Okaloosa County school bus yesterday. Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies and Fort Walton Beach Police officers responded to Beal Parkway and Memorial Parkway after a student called a parent to say another student on the bus had a gun. Responding deputies said it turned out to be a gun-shaped cigarette lighter, brought a 14-year-old Bruner Middle School student, but they said the  caller did the right thing by reporting it. There was no threat and all students were safe.
