PENSACOLA BEACH DROWNING

Pensacola Beach Lifeguards say five people have been hospitalized and a sixth has died after a water rescue at Pensacola Beach yesterday afternoon. Around 3:30pm lifeguards and Escambia Fire-Rescue units responded to a report of numerous people in difficulty in the Gulf near Avenida 11 and Ariola Drive on Pensacola Beach. One of the individuals was pronounced dead at the scene. The others were transported by EMS to either Gulf Breeze Hospital or Baptist Hospital. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
