POISONING ARREST

A Myrtle Grove animal clinic employee has been arrested for trying to poison a coworker. The victim told Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies she and 38-year-old Zoa McIntyre – both employed at Megan’s Landing Animal Clinic – had argued on March 1st about McIntyre starting rumors in the workplace, but the victim said she thought the dispute had been resolved. Several days later the victim drank out of her water bottle and noticed a white powdery substance and said her tongue went numb and she felt nauseous. Testing showed the powder was Phenobarbital, a strong tranquilizer. McIntyre was charged with one count of a food poisoning offense and released on a $25,000 bond.
