The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the 2-year-old male black bear that was tranquilized after being spotted in a tree near the McDonald’s on Fairfield Drive and Pace Boulevard on Tuesday seems to be doing well. FWC spokesman Robert Klepper said although the bear fell about 30 feet he landed in some bushes and appears to be in good condition. FWC biologists tattooed and ear-tagged the bear and Klepper said he was released into a more suitable habitat.
