The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says a Gulf Breeze woman is facing a child cruelty charge for giving a suicidal teenager a gun. The teenager went to her teacher and guidance counselor to tell them she and 50-year-old Denise Lapierre, got into an argument the night prior and said she wanted to harm herself. Lapierre allegedly gave a pistol to her and told her if she felt that way, to go ahead and do it. The arrest report did not provide details on Lapierre’s relationship to the victim. School officials contacted SRSO and the Florida Department of Children and Families and Lapierre was arrested.
