CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ARREST

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Department says a 55-year-old Bonifay man has been arrested on 288 charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. Investigators say that has led to the dismantling of one of the largest online distribution hubs of child pornography in the area. Mark Ashcroft was arrested after a search warrant was served on his Highway 79 address. He is currently being held in the Holmes County Jail on a 2.8 million dollar bond. The arrest comes after a six-week operation involving Holmes County Sheriff’s Department, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
