PENSACOLA TRAFFIC FATALITY

The Florida Highway Patrol said a Pensacola man died in a traffic crash while attempting to flee from an Escambia County Sheriff’s deputy. Troopers said just after midnight, the deputy was attempting to make a traffic stop on a car driven by 20-year-old Micheal Crumpton, who refused to stop and fled south on Palafox Street, running the red light at Palafox and Fairfield Drive, striking a pickup truck driven by 22-year-old Shyanne Nicole Doster of Pensacola, which caused Crumpton’s car to go airborne, ejecting him. Crumpton was transported to Baptist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one else was injured.
