GRAY TRIGGERFISH SEASON CLOSED

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation commission says starting tomorrow, the gray triggerfish season is closed in state waters. The FWC said the decision to close the season early was made after harvest projections indicated the quota has already been reached. The closure will remain in effect through December 31st and will reopen on March 1st, 2019. Local fishermen have contended there are plenty of triggerfish, and the closure is unnecessary.
