MONITOR LIZARD CAUGHT

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said an 8-foot long monitor lizard which has terrified residents of a suburban Miami neighborhood for months, has been caught. The Asian water monitor lizard was a pet that escaped in in August in a neighborhood in Davie. Wildlife officers and Davie police officers caught it Tuesday. The FWC statement said the lizard will be returned to its owner, who received a criminal citation for its escape.
