The 2018 Atlantic Hurricane season has come to an end. The season was considered slightly above-average and included 15 named storms and eight hurricanes, of which two were major hurricanes. Things began a bit early when Tropical Storm Alberto brought maximum sustained winds of 45 mph to North Florida in late May. Of course, the season will always be remembered for powerful and deadly Hurricane Michael, which made landfall October 10th in the Panhandle near Panama City and Mexico Beach and traveled into Southwest Georgia with major hurricane- force winds, causing 43 deaths.
