Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said a Sheriff’s sergeant has been arrested and charged with domestic violence and possession of child pornography after a citizen complaint led to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation. Sergeant Jeffrey Perkins was arrested Friday and after a search warrant was obtained for his cellphone he was also charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography. Sheriff Johnson said Perkins is being terminated by the sheriff’s office. Perkins is being held without bond on the child porn charges.
