MID-BAY BRIDGE UPDATE

The Florida Department of Transportation says the Mid-Bay Bridge in Okaloosa County will remain closed until initial repairs are completed. The bridge closed suddenly Monday evening for emergency repairs after a routine inspection revealed problems which had to be corrected. The Florida Department of Transportation said no timetable for a reopening has been determined and the bridge will stay closed indefinitely. Okaloosa County’s Public Safety Department has mobilized to respond as quickly as possible to all life-threatening emergencies within the city of Destin.
