CENTURY MAYOR REIMBURSES TOWN

The mayor of Century in North Escambia County has reimbursed the town with a cashier’s check for $1,751.70, payment for airline tickets and hotel rooms for two people who he said came to Century last October to discuss economic development. However, the Mayor has declined to say who traveled to town. Under the town’s charter, Hawkins is required to seek advance council approval for purchases in excess of $200, but the council did not approve the airline ticket purchases.
