Pensacola has made it to the finals for the title of World’s Strongest Town. The competition recognizes towns that are financially strong and resilient by building enduring financial resilience at the local level and actively embodying the Strong Towns approach to economic growth and development. Last year’s winner was Muskegon, Michigan. Over the past several weeks, Pensacola has beaten out Manhattan, Kansas; Delray Beach; and Guthrie, Oklahoma, to reach the finals. The final challenger is Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Anyone is eligible to vote on-line in the Strongest Town competition once per round, but votes from Strong Town members are weighted more heavily. Voting will be open until noon Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.
