SANTA ROSA COUNTY LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT

Santa Rosa County Commissioners are not eager to settle a lawsuit after they heard the proposed terms. The owners of Blue Water Holdings SRC had sought a permit for a demolitions debris landfill, which they eventually obtained, but they filed a lawsuit saying the delay caused a substantial financial loss. Commissioners were told they can end the litigation by buying the 155 acres of undeveloped land on Jeff Ates Road in East Milton for 12 million dollars. Commissioners want no part of that deal and moved the item to Thursday’s board meeting to deny the settlement offer.
