COCAINE SMUGGLERS SENTENCED

Two Army soldiers have been sentenced to federal prison for conspiring to smuggle cocaine on military planes from Columbia to Eglin Air Force Base. 36-year-old Daniel Gould, of Crestview, and 36-year-old Henry Royer, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, were each sentenced to 9 years in federal prison for drug trafficking conspiracy. They pleaded guilty to bringing 10 kilograms of cocaine from Colombia in a punching bag on a military plane to Duke Field on Eglin Air Force Base. A third co-defendant is in Colombia, awaiting extradition to stand trial in Pensacola.
