The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says a Fort Walton Beach teenager died after being shot in the chest Monday night. Deputies found 19-year-old Cordell Smart, on the ground beside a fence at 110 Oakhill Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. He was unresponsive and was later pronounced dead at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. The investigation is continuing.
