FORMER DEPUTY SENTENCED TO PRISON

The State Attorney’s Office says a former Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on 18 counts of possessing child pornography. Jeffery Perkins was arrested after investigators found the images of child pornography on his laptop computer, including images depicting girls as young as 6 years old posing in sexually suggestive ways. Perkins was a nine-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and was still serving as a deputy at the time of his arrest. Perkins is also charged with molesting two children several years ago and that case is set for a hearing on July 2nd.
